Commissioner Varhelyi, in a joint conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama, said that the countries of the Western Balkans region will receive 6 billion euros in aid until 2027, as he added that 'after this year it would be difficult for the region to say no' we are still ready'.
"Most of the reforms have their financial cost, but we are ready to mitigate the cost as the leaders of the EC have decided, 6 billion euros should help the region. This is the amount of funds given to member countries. Until 2027, the region will receive the same aid intensity. After 2027, it would be difficult for the region to say we are not ready yet. In 10 years, the region must double its economy", he said.
