The Council of Ministers has appointed Ilir Proda as the new head of the State Police. The Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, announced the news after the end of the government meeting.
With a long career of 19 years, Ilir Proda, currently held the position of Elbasan Police Director. He started his career in the State Police in 2005, initially as a criminal police specialist in police station no. 3.
In 2013, Porda was appointed head of police station no. 2 in Tirana, a position he held for almost a year and for two more years, until 2016, he served as the chief of the Bulqiza police station.
Three years ago, Proda received the rank of chief commissioner and was appointed deputy director for the investigation of crimes in Korça. Then, during 2021, he was appointed to the same position in the Police of Elbasan. In March of this year, he was appointed head of the Elbasan Police.
The Special Commission carried out the verification of the purity of the image for all candidates by requesting the relevant data from the law enforcement bodies, as follows: the Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), the General Prosecutor's Office, the State Information Service (SHISH), the Directorate General State Police (DPPSH), Police Supervision Agency (AMP), Defense Security Information Agency (AISM)
