The government approves the amendment of the law on the Physician's Order. According to these changes, an electronic register will be set up with the names of doctors working in the state and in the private sector.
"The approval of a public electronic register that will guarantee even more transparency for any health professional working in public health structures regarding his private employment," said the Minister of Health Albana Koçiu during the presentation of the changes in the law.
There is also a ceiling on the number of working hours for which a doctor working in the public sector can engage and work privately.
The Minister of Health, Albana Koçiu, said that these changes were approved after a wide consultation of international practices and aimed at avoiding as much as possible the conflict of interest in the case of any medical professional who works in health structures. public.
The changes that we have proposed in the law and that were approved today with the most recent decision of the Government in the law on the "Order of Doctors in the Republic of Albania", mainly consist in making public and transparent information for all health professionals who work in the structures public in terms of their commitments and private.
In the changes, the procedures for disciplinary measures and the relevant structures have become clear, which will further regulate the activity of all health professionals working in the public sector.
Managers of public health institutions are prohibited from owning private clinics and running those private clinics and being holders simultaneously in state hospital structures and in their own private structures.
