Former minister Saimir Tahiri left the cell where he was serving his sentence for abuse of office today. He will serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest. The decision was taken by the Court of Elbasan on the grounds that most of the sentence has been served.
The decision document issued by the Court shows that Tahir has 1 year and 8 months left in his sentence. He will also be allowed to leave the house for necessary reasons, which the Probation Service will define as such.
