The numerous firefighting forces which arrived immediately after the alert from the residents brought the flames under control in the building on "Sali Butka" street.
The director of the fire department, Shkëlqim Goxhaj, announced that there are no injured residents, while the flames are being contained.
"The fire situation is under control, the fire is moving towards isolation. We are continuing with the last hearth of the fire, which is in an apartment. The fire has taken rapid proportions. From the first moments, we were interested in the citizens found in the apartment and we carried out the evacuation of the citizens. From the checks carried out, it does not appear that we have injured citizens in the apartments. The damage from the fire is very extensive, but it is moving towards isolation. This was a special case for the city of Tirana. This has also made it difficult for the fire service to intervene and it took a long time to bring the fire under control. The facade of the building has spread the focus of the fire. The fire situation is under control", declared Goxhaj.
