Families living in private homes use 3 times more energy, according to the study

At a time when the energy crisis has been a determining factor of inflation around the world, a study was conducted in Albania on the behavior of family consumers towards the consumption of electricity.

According to the study of the Energy Regulatory Entity, families living in private houses consume at least 3 times more energy than those living in a building.

"An average family living in a detached house consumes almost three times more energy than a family living in a building that has five or more apartments," the study says.

According to ERE, households use energy more for heating, but a good part of the consumption is also occupied by electronic devices,

"At least 37 percent of this consumption is related to two final uses, which are space heating and air conditioning. Water heating, lighting and cooling are almost universal year-round uses of energy in the home. These three end uses combined accounted for 27% of total annual home energy use. The remaining 36% of home energy use is for appliances such as televisions, cooking appliances, washers and dryers, and a growing list of electronic devices including computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.,” the ERE study said.
