The prices of domestic packaged milk have suffered a slight decrease in this period compared to the month of May.
1 liter of packaged milk is being sold at a price of 180 to 190 ALL. The price drop compared to the month of May is 5%, while with the March-April period, when prices reached their peak, the decrease is 25%.
Despite the slight price drop, Albanian products continue to be sold more expensively than regional brands. The price of milk of the "Alpsko" brand of North Macedonia is traded at 170 ALL per liter, while the Italian milk of the "Carrefour" brand is 140 ALL per liter.
One of the main domestic milk processing operators in the country claimed to Monitor that despite the fact that in this period the production of cow's milk has stabilized and the price has decreased, its decline has not affected the price.
The slight decrease in the price has been influenced by the increase in supplies of imported milk, due to the affordability of the price and the assurance of the quantity.
"The production of cow's milk in this period has stabilized and there is enough on the market. The selling price of milk from the farmer has been reduced from 90 Lek with VAT to 80 to 83 Lek with VAT per liter. So the price has decreased a little, but the decrease in the cost of supplying raw materials has been reflected in the salaries of employees who have increased a lot, but above all we are having difficulty finding them.

Për periudhën janar-prill 2023, sipas të dhënave të Doganave, sasia e qumështit të importuar u rrit 28% krahasuar me të njëjtën periudhë të 2022. Në vlerë importet e 4-mujorit u shtuan 39%.
