Payment by card is returning to a new normality for Albanians. Bank card transactions during the first quarter of the year reached a value of 96 billion lek, or 860 million euros, experiencing a boom compared to the same period a year ago.
What stands out is that card payments are higher when buying a good, service, or product. In the January-March period, 3 million such payments were made, experiencing an increase of almost 35%.
Meanwhile, Bank of Albania statistics show that the level of CASH has also decreased. The first three months of this year have been positive as they started with the stabilization of the circulation of money that is used in hand. According to the data of the Bank of Albania, in March of this year, 382.7 billion ALL of CASH circulated in the Albanian economy from around 385 billion ALL or 2.3 billion ALL less compared to February.
