By Hayley Folk/ The Internet can provide endless information about sexual relations. Plus, it offers lots of sex tips. As a sex and relationship blogger, it's part of my job to help people choose the most helpful advice.
ChatGPT, an OpenAI model trained to act in a conversational manner, has been blowing up all over the web in recent months. Unlike other chatbots that aim to help customers buy things online, ChatGPT is built to generate text on most topics a human might search for.
While it's not completely up-to-date (it only has access to information from 2021 and earlier), it has the ability to answer questions, admit its mistakes, and even reject "inappropriate" questions. What would ChatGPT consider inappropriate? It is not entirely clear. But of course, I was naturally curious: Could ChatGPT provide sex tips to rival a human being?
I asked the robot the most basic of questions: "Can you give me your best sex advice?" The first response was "I'm sorry, but as an AI language model, I can't serve inappropriate content."
However, he continued with some helpful answers: Communication is key, focus on pleasure and not just an orgasm, practice safe sex, take your time, experiment, and most of all, have fun. “As an AI language model, I have no personal experience with sex, but I can share some common knowledge. While orgasm can be an important part of sex,” the chatbot said, “it's not the only goal. Focus on exploring your body and your partner's to find what feels good."
According to ChatGPT's content policy, the AI model must refuse to answer questions about any content it deems 'inappropriate' - but users have reported cases where the chatbot crashes, breaks its own rules or goes rogue.
