The 20th edition of the International Film Festival, Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) raises the curtain on the evening of September 24 at the Millennium Cinema in Tirana.
The geography of participation is wide, with films from Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Africa.
Of the 2918 films that applied this year from 109 countries around the world, 243 films have been selected, of which 209 are short films and 34 feature films.
All the selected films are national premieres, but there are also many world, international, European and Balkan premieres.
The participation of student films and debut directors is noted.
One of the categories with space in the Festival is the one dedicated to children (Kid's), with separate films for two age groups, 5-11 years old and 11-15 years old.
FOCUS this year is dedicated to the greatest Finnish director of all time, Aki Kaurismäki with a retrospective of his best film work awarded with important international awards, while TIFF will open with the documentary film of the world-renowned director Giuseppe Tornatore, dedicated to the Grande Maestro, Ennio Morricone, documentary film shown years in Venice.
