Tirana has gathered about 200 participants from 6 Balkan countries in the largest competition of entrepreneurs, TechStars Startup Weekend, where the first place will be able to win 25,000 euros.

During the 3-day challenge, mentors and experts representing some of the industry champions will support young entrepreneurs to build solutions and collaborate in a constructive environment.

Arjan Ymeri, executive director of Oficina Albania, which organizes this international event, encouraged young people to work for the realization of their ideas in the opening of new startups, which will bring an increase in mobility.

"The thing we all try to do together is make people understand that one of the main effects of start up is to increase mobility. I encourage you to think starting this weekend to bring more benefits for yourself, for your friends and of course for your country where you are ", said Ymeri, while expressing his conviction that many of the participants will be able to find support from partners for funding their ideas.

In the opening speech of this activity, the representative of the EBRD Office in Albania, Ekaterina Solovova said that such a program will help enterprises to develop their ideas. "I think that these types of activities create opportunities for cooperation and connections between young entrepreneurs, through an expertise, inter-local and international and maybe even an access to international funds and markets. I am proud today to say that we have launched a program that helps entrepreneurs and businesses develop their ideas, which is great. The program is designed to support companies, with all the support you need, ie in training your ideas, to develop and possibly in finding funding. Maybe not all of you will be able to do that, but you will still have the right support to try. The purpose of this program is to identify the potentials of different businesses and mobilize global expertise in their training. "We offer technical expertise, mentorship, local consulting and business strategy development expertise," said Ekaterina Solovova.

The event is part of the TechStars Startup Weekend global challenge, created to help participants build a community, share ideas, collaborate, and hone their skills through the engagement of industry leaders.

Meanwhile, two mentors Kateryna Degtyar from Ukraine and Lela Anastasova from Macedonia brought their experiences in setting up and setting up new ventures.
