The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that preparations are being made for Kosovo to apply for NATO and EU membership. Kurti recalled that the application for membership in the Council of Europe has already been made.
"We have applied for membership in the Council of Europe. Our membership in the CoE is an added value for the Council and an opportunity for Kosovo to make further progress in the field of justice. We are making preparations for applying for membership in the Peace Partnership within NATO, and we will also apply for membership in the EU ", said Kurti at the 47th meeting of Vetëvendosje.
The war in Ukraine has increased fear and insecurity in various states, following the Russian occupation of Ukraine. Finland and Sweden are the last two countries that have officially applied to join NATO, but have faced the dislike of Turkey.
