The well-known pastor in the USA is arrested! He is accused of trafficking and child abuse
An influential pastor wanted in the US for child trafficking has been arrested in the Philippines.
Apollo Quiboloy, the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), who claims to be the "appointed son [of God]", is facing various charges, including in the US where he is wanted for alleged trafficking of women and girls at the age of 12. According to the FBI's wanted list, the victims were allegedly recruited to work as personal assistants, or "shepherds," and asked to have sex with Quiboloy in what was called "night duty."
Quiboloy, who is at least 74 years old, has denied the allegations against him.
In August, 2,000 police officers, later backed by 1,000 reinforcements, stormed KOJC's sprawling 30-hectare (74-acre) compound in search of the pastor, prompting his supporters to take to the streets. The church claims millions of members and Quiboloy is a friend of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Philippine National Police spokesman Jean Fajardo said Quiboloy surrendered after being warned to surrender within 24 hours.
