The International Court of Justice orders Israel to halt the Rafah offensive

The International Court of Justice today ordered Israel to stop the offensive in Rafah.
In the decision made on Friday afternoon, the Court states that it is not convinced that the evacuation in Rafah and other measures taken by Israel are sufficient to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians.
While reading the International Court of Justice's decision, the body's president, Nawaf Salam, said the interim measures ordered by the court in March have failed to fully address the situation in the besieged Palestinian enclave and that the conditions to order a new state of emergency.
"Israel must immediately stop its military offensive in Rafah," he added.
