Tragic event in Texas / 10-year-old was killed after calling 911

A fourth-grader, Amerie Jo Garza, who was going to school in Uvalde, Texas, tried to call 911 from her cell phone before the 18-year-old gunman killed her.
Ameria's grandmother, 49-year-old Berlinda Arreola, told the Daily Beast that the 10-year-old had her cell phone when the gunman entered the classroom.
"[My granddaughter] was shot and killed after trying to call 911, she died like a heroine trying to get help for her and her classmates," she said.
Arreola also said the gunman had told the students, "You are going to die."
"[Amerie] had her phone and called 911," the grandmother explained. "And instead of taking it, he shot her ... She was sitting next to her best friend. "Her friend was covered in blood."
