The White House responded with humor to voters' concern about Biden's

The White House responded with sportsmanship to the accusations about the age of President Biden and the dilemmas of whether he can afford a second term.

"80 is the new 40," said White House officials.

Biden is the oldest White House president in US history and if he runs again in 2024 he will be 82 when he begins his second term in January 2025.

According to polls, voters are concerned about Biden's age, as well as his rival Donald Trump, who is 77 years old.

Most Americans would prefer an age limit of 75 or less for candidates.

White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre was the one to poke fun at age concerns: "80 is the new 40, don't you know that?"
