Luxembourg has become the first country in the world to make all public transport free, in a bid to ease road congestion and reduce pollution.
Trains, trams and buses no longer charge fares, a relief for low-income residents who previously spent up to €440 a year.
As they predict that 65% of commuters will still use cars by 2025, up from 73% in 2017, this initiative is an essential step towards improving environmental sustainability.
