On Friday, Kate and Prince William made their Royal Ascot 2022 debut in the iconic horse race. Kate wore a white dress with brown dots by Alessandra Rich, accompanied by a hat with floral details on top by Sally-Ann Provan.

In 1986, Princess Diana also chose to wear a white dress and white dotted hat at a horse racing event. Diana chose a white dress with the classic Victor Edelstein model along with a similar dotted hat by Frederick Fox.

Polka dots have been a favorite style for Kate in recent months, also choosing the model for Prince Philip's memorial service in March and a Platinum Jubilee celebration earlier this month.

Kate also wore pearl earrings that previously belonged to Diana. The Princess of Wales wore jewelry on many occasions during the 1990s, including a Performance Gala of the English National Ballet in Budapest in 1992, when she joined the earrings with Spencer Tiara.

Prince William and Prince Harry inherited their mother's magnificent jewelry collection and are now used by their wives. Prince William even proposed to Kate with the sapphire engagement ring and diamond that belonged to Princess Diana and Kate is rarely seen without this accessory.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle's engagement ring consists of three diamonds, with a large stone in the center surrounded by two smaller stones on the sides. The two side stones are from Princess Diana's personal collection.

Earlier this month, Kate wore dazzling sapphire and diamond earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana in Trooping the Color.
