A record of Albania in the 30s that still makes sense today

A record of Albania in the 30s that still makes sense today

By Ismet Toto/ Anyone who knows how to write is not worthless.

Is it better to have in Albania twenty newspapers and twenty magazines in the hands of everyone and they can do what they want and say what they want freely, in other words, to have a complete chaos, or is it better we have 5-6 newspapers and 5-6 magazines in the hands of ladies and suitable from every point of view, which develop a calm and measured activity, trying with honest and true intellectual efforts to analyze those national problems, which belong to the press?

The press is not measured by the quantity of newspapers and magazines, but by its quality, by its real and constructive value. A newspaper cannot be left in the hands of every man. In addition to the conditions of the law, there are also implied conditions. A newspaper or magazine can often do more service or harm to the country than, for example, a deputy, or general secretary, or a prefect.

Then a newspaper or a magazine should be left in the hands of those people who have not only financial guarantees, but also, as we say, cultural, social and national guarantees. In other words, people who can serve society.
