For all women without exception, even her!

For all women without exception, even her!

In the 16 days against violence against women, a part of the world wears orange in solidarity, while Mahsa Amini is the name that reminds us how far the violence that starts with a handkerchief goes.

In the note about violence against women, Majlinda Bregu, one of the strong voices of public life, this time has spoken between the lines even personally when she refers to women in public life or stones under her heels...

By Majlinda Bregu/ The tragic death of Mahsa Amini shocked the whole world.

As it usually happens, a spark is enough to set fire to the years spent under the routine of violence, oppressive injustices, humiliation

That spark, which gives strength and courage to thousands of women to stop this ubiquitous crime, - gender-based violence.

Unfortunately, some do not make it out of this hell alive.

I have worked and tried for years and years to give a voice to the victims of violence, kidnappings and massacres inside the country or trafficked abroad.

I tried quite a bit to arrive at the toughening of the legislation against the perpetrators of this crime, and due to the efforts of mainly female MPs in the Albanian Parliament, Albania today has a Penal Code without room for interpretation for perpetrators of violence. Of course, beyond the bruises, loneliness and fear of the women who denounced the violence, like any normal being, I was disappointed and revolted every time an abuser gave her peace.

I know.

new crack of abuse: what is enabled today by digital technologies, social media dedicated to publicly humiliating women and girls.

The online world reflects and imitates the same power structures and patterns of discrimination that the offline world has.

Regardless of whether you are a private or public figure, we all have our personal experiences with threats, power play, intimidation by misogynists on the Internet or these "patriot trollers", the chorus of anonymity, who attack and abuse women and girls. wheel with the same mission as the moral police who killed Mahsa in Iran.

Instrument of control to intimidate women.

Gender-based violence is a constant threat to societies.

The brutal death of Mahsa Amini is not just a story coming out of Iran. It is a story of revenge of the patriarchs!
