Cardiac surgeon Edvin Prifti has spoken about his truth regarding the money that was found in his apartment during the investigation.
He said on moderator Pranvera Borakaj's "Quo Vadis" that every penny is justified, but justice turned a blind eye and destroyed the evidence.
Priest: By eavesdropping on me at home, everything that I do and have in my family. Focusing on these elements, and you know that I have a certain amount of money at home based on an agreement that I made.
You come to me on February 9th and bring me a letter about the seizure of my work card, this is understandable given what was happening, my house was raided 2 days later. I have not broken any law, Albanian law gives me the right to keep my savings wherever I want. Albanian law asks me for my origin.
Borakaj: Do you have all of them justified?
Priest: Undoubtedly, they were justified with an accounting expertise that we filed on December 12-13, 2021. After 3 years, on February 8, they told me that since we have this file, the file had flown.
Cardiac surgeon Edvin Prifti said he is very disappointed with how he was treated in Albania.
With international experience, having worked for 12 years in the best hospitals in Italy, Canada, and the USA, cardiac surgeon Prifti returned to Albania, but did not find what he was hoping for.
Borakaj: I was impressed by this part of the scientists we were talking about earlier about the world ranking, your name is first, so is Genc Byrazeri, you are both in SPAK, it is a bit ironic the approach that Albania has in relation to scientists and in relation to science, are you disappointed with your country?
Priest: Yes.
Borakaj: You feel disappointed.
Priest: I think when I came to Albania, when I returned after 12 years.
Borakaj: After an experience in Italy, Canada and the USA, why did you return?
Priest: I returned for exclusively family reasons. Then, staying with the family, another relationship began, then I had a girl. When I returned to Albania, I initially found a place that performed 250-300 operations per year with an open heart. There were two charters that left every day from Rinas to Istanbul with people who sold their apartments and were operated on in Turkey.
