"Start with an idea - Win an internship" is the project of the Municipality of Tirana, which invites young people at the beginning of their professional career, in the age group up to 28 years old, to gain the opportunity of a paid internship in the institution, through the application for a concept for a project or study. The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, underlined that this is a very good opportunity for young people, who have new ideas, to do good work for themselves and for the city.
"If you treat every day as 1% of your project, of your dream, of your idea, then every day is important, because it is 1% of that idea, that dream, that project. Every problem you may encounter can also be a very big opportunity. But if you see it as a problem, it also breaks you, that's where the game ends. If you see it as an opportunity, it really makes you a leader today. I'm looking for chicks and chicks who want to join our team because the time will come when we pass the baton to another generation. Therefore, I would very much like to have from this team the future directors, project managers of our agencies, and today we are starting with a modest idea, as a test to understand the character, strength, ingenuity and desire to do something good work for our city", said Veliaj.
The mayor added that the country is changed by people who have ideas and think to move the country forward, and not "the chorus of cursers", who make analyzes from the sofa.
"The country is not changed by people who analyze from the couch and Facebook, or by commentators who mainly insult the work of others. It's not the 'chorus of naysayers' that changes things, but the chorus of people who want to do things. Who has been part of the stories of the last few years in Tirana, knows that the debate about the New Theater exceeded the level of hysteria, became part of the campaign, continues to be part of politics, burning tires and the weekly molotov at the municipality, but now that we have opened the foundations of the theater, when you see that it is a big space, - it will undoubtedly be the biggest theater in the Balkans - you understand that in 3 months of work we have done more than in 30 years of trouble", he said the head of the Municipality.
Furthermore, he added that many employees of the Municipality of Tirana, even some of them in management positions, started with the presentation of an idea, from an internship. He encouraged the youth to apply as much as possible to these programs. "The fact that you have passed this stage, you have applied, that is, you have put something on paper, makes you completely different from the talkers, who have no contribution to society, except to criticize the work you do", concluded Veliaj.
The project "Start with an idea - Win an Internship" is already in its 6th year, and this year it offers the possibility that, through a 3-month internship, young people have the opportunity to express their creative and innovative ideas.
