5 key conditions a home must meet, triggered by the pandemic
We had to spend days, weeks, and months locked between four walls to figure out what else we needed at home. Some people were lucky and had them all, but most live in small houses without much space.
Real estate agents discovered for Metro what are the 5 main demands that buyers make today and that are driven by the pandemic.
Garden
Unexpectedly, the demand to have a garden in front of or behind the house has increased by 74% worldwide.
High ceilings and natural light
The pandemic proved that the house is not just a hotel. Life is unpredictable. In the days of isolation the house took on a real meaning and it took more space and height to breathe freely, but also more natural light, to enjoy the sun, even from the window.
Home gym
People did not even dream of going to the gym in those pandemic days. Even today, when the virus is present, the fear continues to be great and the gym still at high risk of spreading, so if the conditions are at home, even better.
WiFi access
Work from home definitely required internet. Home buyers are not only interested in the internet but want to make sure it is fiber and fast.
View
Since many people have spent many hours on balconies or windows during the pandemic, they have come to realize that the view outside matters. A garden, trees, a lake, something reminiscent of nature is certainly better than another palace or house opposite.
