If your biggest problem for summer is mosquitoes then you are in the right place. There's actually a way to avoid it, according to a recent study, and it has to do with the color of your clothes.

Researchers at the University of Washington found that mosquitoes are attracted to red, orange, black and cyan – a color between blue and green.

But on the other hand it was found that the insects ignored the colors green, purple, blue and white, suggesting that these are the best options to wear when you are outdoors this summer.

"I used to think that there are three main things that attract mosquitoes: your breath, your sweat and your skin temperature. In this study, we found a fourth signal: color," said study author Jeffrey Riffell.

Humans emit carbon dioxide, which insects can smell, and the experiment showed that CO2 made mosquito eyes prefer certain colors over others. When a spray of carbon dioxide was added, mosquitoes flew towards dots that were red, orange, black or cyan – but avoided those that were green, blue and purple.
