Princess Diana's 'black sheep' sweater has just sold for $1.1 million at auction.
The outfit originally retailed in the 80s for around $50. The sale broke the record for the most expensive sweater ever sold at auction, previously held by Kurt Cobain's green sweater, which sold for $334,000 in 2019.
Diana Spencer wore this sweater to watch her fiancé, Prince Charles, play polo in 1981.
And while the sweater isn't from a high-end designer brand, it was a staple in the princess's wardrobe.
"I think Princess Diana really used fashion as a way to communicate," say fashion experts.
