Do the masks and papers sold for removing black dots really work?
Black spots are skin pores trapped as a result of accumulation of fat, dead cells and external impurities including make up. They are most prominent mainly in the nose area and the part of the cheeks around it, forehead and chin. Alternatives to their treatment that are widely suggested on social networks are stickers and masks that are removed when drying in a coat. These products actually manage to remove only the superficial portion of the black spots so they will reappear very soon and in some cases after removal, the pores will appear enlarged than before and accumulate more dirt. . But what's more important is that some of these products are dermatologically unexplored and contain substances that can cause allergies and more often irritating contact dermatitis as they contain adhesives (to attract black spots) which promote inflammation and skin rash. These products are not recommended especially if you have scars on the skin where it will be applied, damaged pores, or sensitive skin and are completely contraindicated in persons with rosacea, eczema or psoriasis as they contain aggressive substances for these cases (alcohol, menthol etc.) .
Dermatologically tested products are recommended instead to cleanse and exfoliate the skin. Exfoliation eliminates dead cells and thereby prevents their accumulation in the pores. Properly cleansing the skin of the remnants of cosmetic products at the end of the day on a regular basis can help slow down the removal of black spots that are more thoroughly cleansed through professional aesthetic procedures.
