How to care for sunburned skin on the beach
In medicine, the principle "better to prevent than to cure" is very important, so during the summer the emphasis is on choosing sunscreens and adhering to sun exposure schedules. But it is not always the case that these rules are followed, especially by people who are concerned about getting bronze color as soon as possible. These individuals not only do not use sunscreen, but are exposed to peak UV radiation schedules with products that stimulate rapid tanning.
For all of you who do this but think your skin is strong and finds nothing, I want to bring to your attention the fact that skin lesions are of 2 types; immediate (redness, burning that is noticed immediately after exposure) and late as a result of continuous accumulation of UV rays on the skin (aging, skin cancer, etc.). Therefore, although you can get rid of sunburn even if you are exposed to indiscriminate exposure, in the long run this behavior damages collagen and promotes aging, blemishes and skin cancer.
However, there are many people who respect the measures of sun exposure, but for various reasons, suffer from skin irritation and sunburn. So I would like to bring you some tips on how to manage these situations, always if it comes to light skin burns. If the skin presents with vesicles / blisters (burn grade 2) which are large, on a large area of skin, accompanied by fever, fever or headache, you should definitely go to the nearest doctor for medication.
If your skin from sun exposure appears red, sensitive and painful on the surface, you should first soothe it. Apply fresh compresses on the burned surface for a few minutes, several times a day. As a refresher for compresses, choose lotions with anti-inflammatory substances and thermal water to reduce redness and burning sensation (such products bear the soothing lotion / apaisante mark).
The next step is to apply a cream or oil with a cutaneous barrier repair effect. Such products may contain vitamin E, aloe vera, hyaluronic acid etc. contain descriptions such as skin repair, aftersun burn.
In the following days, until the skin cools down, try to limit the exposure of the burnt skin, wearing light cotton clothes and when exposed apply a protective cream with spf twice higher than the one you had used before the burn (if you had used ). Also be careful not to manually peel off the pieces of peeled skin on the still red and sore skin (although they are not pleasant to look at) as you will further damage the cutaneous barrier by leading it to overlapping infections. And do not forget to drink more water during this period!
