About 20 thousand young men and women are expected to attend the TUMO Center's courses in the field of technology and coding this year. Present at the 4th international ICITTBT conference, the mayor Erion Veliaj said that Tirana is ready to host two new study programs, which will help in the adoption of new technologies and the creation of a sustainable digital economy.

"I look forward to the fact that this year we will have 20,000 male and female students, from 12 to 18 years old, to attend TUMO courses. Meanwhile, for the age between 18 and 22, we are ready to introduce the 'Ecole 42' project from France and for the age over 22, for start-up, "Plug&Play" from California. With Mr. Granoff from AADF, we had a discussion about how to start these courses next semester and make Tirana a champion, as it is in many fields, in tourism, in urban design, and in many other activities. In the field of technology, today we are moving faster than any other country, and of course, Tirana "belongs" to be the first, just as it is in all other fields", declared Veliaj.

Tirana brought together experts, researchers and businesses to discuss the latest developments in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cyber Security, Smart Cities and the Digital Economy. In his speech, Veliaj emphasized the importance of these fields in the development of cities and improving the lives of citizens.

"It is an extraordinary pleasure that Tirana is filled with life and activities, but above all with conferences like these, which promote digitalization and the culture of future jobs in Tirana. The fact that Tirana today is the most interesting ecosystem in the Balkans, where the highest employment is in the digital field and in the field of tourism, and the fact that Tirana is today the number 1 example, where children between the ages of 12-18 call education a digital right at Tumo, so 1,600 to 2,000 children today with a full scholarship from the Municipality receive all these skills, I believe that for the Canadian Institute of Technology, for many of those who are invested in the sciences that produce the employment of the future, for us they are very important part of the ecosystem", said Veliaj.

This conference is expected to create new opportunities for international cooperation and highlight Albania's role as an important center for technological innovation in the region.
