AI on Whatsapp! What is expected to change?

Over the past few months, WhatsApp has been gradually introducing some AI features to its app. At the moment, these features are only available in selected countries and for users using the English app.

So far, users can use Meta AI, Meta's artificial intelligence platform, to create stickers, post questions in the search box, or chat with Meta AI's chatbot.

But soon they will be able to create photos, using artificial intelligence.

Users will be able to create animated photos and images based on their photos, but with the help of artificial intelligence.

WhatsApp will only need one photo from the user and then Meta's Llama AI model will do its magic and turn that photo into a whole series of different photos, depending on the user's requirements. And all this within the WhatsApp application.

In translation, it will be enough to create an ordinary selfie, and the Meta AI Llama model will create a photo of the user dancing, relaxing on the beach or walking on Mars.

It's currently unclear how Meta (or WhatsApp), plans to prevent users from doing the same with other people's photos and sending them across the web.

While Meta recently first announced the use of publicly available data from its Facebook users in Europe to train its AI models, it later retracted that decision because they weren't sure how such a decision would work. complied with European data protection law for digital markets. Users in the EU won't have the option to use AI on WhatsApp soon.
