Elon Musk's new plan for Twitter verification: The gold, gray and blue

Twitter's new owner Elon Musk has revealed a new plan for user verification, which will be released next Friday (December 2).

The move comes after he banned the paid 'blue check' plan, following a wave of fake accounts being verified.

Musk said there will be three types of verification checks.

"Gold mark for companies, gray mark for government and blue mark for individuals (famous or not)".

It also said that all verified accounts will be manually validated before being granted access.

However, it was not immediately clear whether users would have to pay for the service.
