The new version of Apple will allow you to edit messages

When Apple unveiled the new features for iOS 16 on June 6, users could not help but be excited about all the changes that are coming to Messages .

With iOS 16, users will be able to mark conversations as unread to return to them later, recover messages that have been deleted within the last 30 days, and edit messages after you press the send button .

How to edit a message with iOS 16

Once you have typed 'send' in a message, you will have up to 15 minutes to make your modification. During these 15 minutes, all you have to do is:

Touch and hold the message you want to edit until it is isolated.

Below the message, you will see a popup window with a variety of options. Select "Change".

Make your modification and then resubmit the message

Can the recipient see a message before it is modified?

Perhaps the scariest part of editing a message is knowing whether or not the recipient will see it before it is modified. According to Apple, recipients will be able to see the original message, unedited if they capture it before modification. That said, recipients will not be provided with any kind of message editing history, so if you have quick fingers, you can beat them to the end.

Is the recipient notified if you edit a message?

Once a message has been edited, a cursor that says "Edited" will appear below the text. However, it will not be seen what has been edited.
